My luck continues much to my amazement. Just as I finished reading the book, The Motion of the Ocean: 1 Small Boat, 2 Average Lovers, and a Woman’s Search for the Meaning of Wife, yesterday as a mater of fact, I received my other prize, a bottle of Bogle Petite Syrah, at my doorstep today. Lucky, because now I have something else to keep me busy for a while. Maybe I should elaborate.
A couple of months ago, Tillerman, over at Proper Course initiated a writing project called Love and Sailing. There were many fine entries and as luck would have it my entry was selected as the winner. My submission, Setting the Record Straight or Capt. Puffy Pants Eats Crow, received the most votes, so it won. Hurray for me!
Next contest, The Tillerman Painkiller Challenge, put forth by O Dock just a short time afterwards, was to come up with a “guess” as to how many “painkillers” Tillerman would consume on his winter vacation to the BVI. The trick I think, was to reverse engineer some sort of theory or algorithm to support your “guess.” Amongst just a small amount of controversy, I was deemed to have the winning number. Hurray for me again!
Well, now I’ve finished reading Janna’s book, which I hope to review soon, and now it is time to start working on the second prize. I imagine that won’t take quite as long as the first. What do you think?
Glad the bottle survived the journey. Hope it brings a little warmth to the Minnesota winter. Santé!
O Docker, There is no way that bottle wasn’t making it intact, that was the best packaging I’ve ever seen. Thanks for the prize! Looks like the Bogle Winery is only about 80 miles from where my grandfather used to live. I’ve had their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir before and am looking forward to trying their Petite Syrah. It’s 25 F today, that’s 50 degrees warmer than last week, it’s got to be the wine. En bonne sonté to you as well.
