Yesterday, found us out in the woods of Wild River State Park where we did a little cross-country skiing. It was a beautiful winter morning, about 22 degrees when we arrived. It had warmed up to 31 by the time we left. Ten knot winds out of the southwest, but calm in the woods. The video finishes at the picnic area, where there is a sign depicting some of the scenes from the logging era. The river valley was once covered with majestic white pines, all gone now. At the time it was estimated that there was a two hundred year supply of timber, it lasted 60!

I picked Edvard Grieg’s Morning Mood classical piece for two reasons, one we skied in the morning and two, Peer, the character from the Norwegian play, Peer Gynt, had some similar qualities to Captain Puffy Pants. Namely, that he is considered useless for practical tasks, somewhat of a braggart and is scorned for his vivid imagination. Hope you enjoy.
