I found this video on the Northern Lights Sailing Club’s Facebook page. Very nice video showing an Island Packet 350 sailing out of the Wisconsin side from Pepin Marina on beautiful Lake Pepin. The sailboat’s name is Gypsy and is owned by Don and Jodi.

Dang, I sure like those Island Packets! Of course, I say this never having sailed on one, but I did like what I saw of Island Packet Yacht’s Estero when we checked one out at the boat show two years ago. Enjoy the video and check out the Northern Lights Sailing Club too.

This week finds us preparing for a long vacation aboard our Islander 28, Aurion. We will be on board for 10 days. We’re having our usual 4th of July crew for the holiday and some other visitors throughout as well so we will be enjoying ourselves immensely I am sure. We hope to get to parts of the lake we have not been to before. There is not an abundance of great anchorages on the southern end but we hope to find some nooks where we can drop the hook and get to know the area a little better. There is a restaurant called the Pickle Factory in the town of Pepin that is supposed to be good. We’ll bring our dingy and row to shore maybe.

Here are a couple of photos from last Friday night as we lay at anchor waiting for the stars to come out and light the way to our dreams.
