Kinda looks like Aurion is floating through the stars, but quite the opposite. Outer space is peering down on Aurion it seems. I found our beloved Islander 28, with the dingy in tow on Google Maps the other day while poking around trying to figure out where we should anchor with a north wind blowing. I noticed that our boat was not in her slip and started searching. She was the second boat I looked at. Gotta love the Google!
Very cool! If you right-click on the spot on your map (your boat in this case) and select the “What’s here?” option it will even display your latitude and longitude in the Google toolbar… Cool feature imo. Hope all is well and you’re having a great time on Pepin! I know we are, whenever we can get down there.
Didn’t have to look far to find out boat she’s right in the slip http://goo.gl/maps/8Ipt
Safe and sound in her berth! Hope you are getting out sailing more than we are. Can’t believe the 4th is already behind us. Nice to hear from you again. Happy Sailing, Steve
That is Awesome! I found Ciel Rouge at anchor in Hok-si-La! …. it must have been on a very hot day as we had our two floaties out, the tender & a kayak! You can’t miss us from google maps! Too funny. Now if I can figure out how to post it like Steve & you did!
I did a screen print of the Google Map, which will save it as a .png image file on your Mac, I like the “shift-command 4” screen print option as that lets you pick the area more precisely. Then you can post the image as you would any other image, say to Facebook or whatever.
